Certificates

Before you can apply for admission to studies at a Bavarian University of Applied Sciences, you have to have your examination certificates certified by the:

Language

In case you do not have a report of your German knowledge, you will have to take a language proficiency test at a Studienkolleg (or at a Goethe-Institut in your country, if you have the opportunity). If necessary the Studienkolleg Coburg (www.sk-coburg.de (ext.)) offers preparation courses. In the brochure "Informattionen zum Zulassungsverfahren" you will find a list of accepted German exams.
We offer the German language exam TestDaF (www.testdaf.de (ext.)). We don't offer language preparation courses, but nearby, you'll find "DiLA", a language school (www.deutschinlandshut.de (ext.))


Application

The Hochschule Landshut does not offer any English-taught programmes.

The deadline for the application at the Hochschule Landshut is the 15.06. for the semester beginning on the 01.10. You can fill in the application forms from May 2 on (http://www.fh-landshut.de/online-bewerbung ); please send them – filled in and printed out – by mail to: FH Landshut, Am Lurzenhof 1, 84036 Landshut, Deutschland.

Finances etc.

The study fees at the University of Applied Sciences Landshut are € 300,- / semester from summer term 2011 till summer term 2013; € 62,- / semester for the Studentenwerk (students’ union) and (optionally) € 7.50 for using the sports grounds. A room in the dormitory costs about € 166,- to 217,- per month (single room with bathroom, shared kitchens). The Mensa (univ. restaurant) offers meals at noon for about € 2,50 per meal (one vegetarian per day, mon - fri). Normally, you can estimate € 400,- to 500.- / month for the cost of living to have a normal student life (including costs for books, clothes, food, etc.)

Maybe you could obtain a scholarship for your studies here in Germany. This would be organized by the DAAD (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst) in Bonn. Have a look at their homepage (www.daad.de), you will find the possibilities and deadlines there.
